*1973 in Stuttgart, Germany
My early visual language was shaped through the surreal and the sensual:
I combined images from porn and high-end interiors into strange, sexual dreamscapes.
The result was a kind of ornamental eroticism — patterns and bodies melting into each other, desire framed in form.
I studied Art and got pregnant in the fourth Semester. I managed it through the studies but stopped painting shortly after. As I went back to my childhood, growing up in Portugal and wanting to reconnect to that part of me I started painting again while traveling between Germany and Portugal, moving between Bodywork and Art. The exchange between my inner and outer World has become very interesting and intense since then. The imagery in my work changed. Portraits and Dreamscapes became more interesting, communication and language, in every aspect of my life. Still learning and evolving, day by day.
I have had a great deal of luck and support through all the light and darkness that this journey has been offering.
Thank you to my friends and family, near or far. Thank you World.
